Released 30th April 2026

Exploder, originally released in 2004 on BYOND, ported to the Game Boy Advance. Originally conceived based on an Amstrad 464 game.

Increase counter value by one on your selected tile, when it reaches 5, it explodes on the orthogonal directions increasing their value, capturing free or opponent tiles. Chain reactions create strategic opportunities, be careful where your 4's are!

This game has three game types, with three different layout options, with three different ways to play.

GAME TYPES:
Submission: Have the most tiles on the board, game ends when all tiles filled
Conquest: Defeat the other player completely with the whole board
Obliteration: Wipeout the other player without being able to use free tiles

LAYOUT OPTIONS:
Classic: Original Corner and middle tile options
Minefield: Alternating colour field
Random: Randomly selected 4 tiles for each colour

PLAYER OPTIONS:
2 Player Local: Use one GBA to play 2 player, switch the GBA between you to play
Vs Computer: Try out one of 2 difficulties to beat the computer
2 Player Link: Connect via link cable to play 2 player on different screens

Start to enter menus
A places counters / menu selections
B back on menu / Switch player in 2 Player Local
Select Return to title screen

Link Cable note:
Ok this is my first working link cable game on the GBA, and it does work, but settings can be iffy. Make sure both players select the same options in this version, working on a linked up version that doesn't require this much faff. Random layouts follow a pattern, particularly the first one which will always be the same, attempting different random maps with link cable may cause mis-sync. Another thing I'm working on. Keep to classic or minefield for best results.
